This website

This site sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and loads no ads or third-party fonts. It is served through Cloudflare, Inc. (content delivery and security), which processes your IP address and technical request data to deliver the page and block attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in a secure, working website). Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

Visitor statistics

To understand how many people visit and which parts of the site they use, we use PostHog (PostHog, Inc., USA) in cookieless mode. It records the pages you view, clicks on the install button, the referring website, your browser and device type and your approximate country. Your IP address is discarded and not stored, and no identifier is kept on your device; visitors are counted with a hash that changes daily, so we cannot recognise you across days or identify you. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website. Transfers to the USA are covered by PostHog's data processing agreement, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can block the statistics with any common content blocker without losing any function of the site.

Early-access signups

Before launch, an early-access form on this site collected email addresses, website addresses, an answer to a pricing question and an optional note. We use them only to tell those people that Findbar is available (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent). The data is stored on our own server in Germany, is never sold or shared for marketing, and is deleted by 31 March 2027 or earlier if you ask. The form is no longer online.

The Findbar app

For sites that install the app, Findbar indexes only the site's public content (visible products, published blog posts, publicly readable CMS items and public pages), stores the site's settings, and logs search terms with their result counts — without IP addresses, visitor IDs or cookies — for the site owner's insights report. Uninstalling the app deletes the site's index and all of its data. Paid plans are sold and billed by Wix; we only learn whether a site is on a paid plan and never see payment details.

Your rights

You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. You may also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
